But, when working with the principles of change management, given below are few tips to apply those principles. When managers and leaders are planning for change management, then there are five principles that should not be forgotten:
- Various people react in a different way to change
- Everyone has different change management strategies that are required to be fulfilled.
- Usually a loss is included in a change management, and people pass through the “loss curve”
- One needs to deal with all the fears
- Expectations are required to be realistically managed
To apply these principles of change management given below are few tips of doing it:
For large communications there should be change management strategy developed to make sure that the information is disseminated comprehensively and efficiently to everyone. This helps in identifying the deal properly with the individual reaction to change. For example: at the same time tell to everyone.
Give information about the people ask them to be honest and open about the facts, but do not give speculations that are overoptimistic. This means the requirements of their openness in such a way that does not set the expectations that are unreal.
Time should be given to the people to express their support and views for their decision making and offering change management counseling, change management training or information as suitable for helping them through the loss curve. Also, give people choices for making and being honest about the obvious consequences of such choices. It means to meet their needs for inclusion and control. Finally, keep observing the practices of good change management like taking out time for feedback and for informal discussions.
