You can build an email list and monetize it within days of starting, and do it all without completely alienating the email subscribers you attract. Making money online or executing internet marketing for business is heavily dependent on your ability to develop an excellent direct marketing database that you can communicate with.
Email marketing is still the "killer app" of the internet, and is more valuable for small business internet marketing than many other highly touted methods because it can make every other method bigger and more profitable. Here is my simple (but as challenging as you make it) system for leveraging this powerful direct marketing method.
1. Commonsensical Information Product Creation
Commonsensical information product creation means that you spend no more than one day creating your information product, or at least no more than 2 days. Here are 3 simple suggestions to create information products fast:
Contact an expert and request a recorded interview (Free tool- FreeConferenceCalling.com).
Create an ebook on a topic you know will sell (Free tool - PrimoPDF)
Create videos using screencast technology (Free tool - Camstudio)
Any one of these 3 methods is fine for creating an info-product fast. If you clear out one day, you should be able to knock out all 3 of these methods, not even just one.
2. Distribute Through ClickBank
For about $50 dollars, you can sign a product onto ClickBank which is the largest marketplace online for digital products. ClickBank lets you forget about getting merchant accounts or finding affiliates to promote for you. It attracts affiliates on its own. You can set up on ClickBank in less than a day.
3. Implement Opt-In Box On Thank You Page
On your "Thank You" or product delivery page, you can implement an opt-in box (or email capture form) by making your product buyers an attractive and related offer. This way, you are building the most profitable type of email list there is - a list of customers.
4. Present "Soft-Sell" Upsell On Post Opt-In
After people have opted-in to join your list, you can send them to another "Thank You" page that includes an affiliate offer that you get paid for. First, congratulate them on making an excellent choice to sign up for whatever your offer was. Next, make sure that this affiliate offer is quite complementary to your opt-in offer and the purchased product. Position it as something to help them move "even faster", "or access more". Make sure you don't devalue what they just received.
For instance if they bought an email marketing product from you, you can offer them an affiliate product on "fast product creation" which helps them create products that they can use to attract people to their email lists. Of course this is just one of hundreds of possible examples.
5. Heavily promote your product
Now that you have built a list-building machine, and an upsell monetization machine on the back of your product, it's time to promote the heck out of your product sales page. I would break up the theme of your product into 100 keyword-focused articles, and then:
Step #1 - Write articles and submit articles to EzineArticles.com
Step #2 - Create content pages for those articles on your website (after EzineArticles.com approval)
Step #3 - Convert each of those articles into screencast videos (with PowerPoint and Camtasia or Camstudio)
Step #4 - Distribute those videos to Youtube and many other video sharing sites (through TubeMogul video syndication tool).
Step #5 - Bookmark each of those articles, website pages, and videos with Onlywire (one-to-many social bookmarking tool).
Step #6 - Stumble them (bookmark them) on StumbleUpon.
Step #7 - Sign Up for Accounts On HootSuite, Twitter, And Facebook
Step #8 - Create A Facebook Page (formerly Facebook Fan Page)
Step #9 - Load up a sequence for sharing those article, web page and video links on Hootsuite so that it syndicates to Facebook and Twitter.
Step #10- Rinse And Repeat the same process with another 100 articles.
Conclusion
The sequence above gives you a step-by-step protocol to help you avoid analysis paralysis, procrastination and distraction. These 3 phenomena stall more internet marketing efforts than any other. Print this guide and implement it for your success.
